Cost of blog

Is my blog entirely free? I don’t want to accidently end up making changes that cost. Will I be alerted if I end up customizing something or adding something that costs?

I just started up my first blog. I haven’t published it yet because I’m concerned that I might accidently end up being charged for some change that costs. Will I always be told that I am doing something that requires premium membership?

Your blog is free to use, you can post as much as you wish, upload your own images, embed videos, make pages, change your theme, add headers (to some themes) all for free. On wordpress.COM there are upgrades which allow you to do a bit more, like VideoPress which allows you to directly upload videos, custom design which gives you more control on the design of your blog, a custom domain which removes the .wordpress part of the URL, premium themes, removal of ads which periodically show up to pay for wordpress, and additional space (you have limited amount of space to upload images, so if you want more you’ll need to pay).
You’ll never see anything say you need to pay money, upgrades are entirely optional. You won’t be charged for anything unless you go to the Store, and purchase something.

Your blog is entirely free. You will not be charged for anything unless you click to add a custom domain etc and fill in your banking details. MOST bloggers here have entirely free blogs. If you don’t add your Paypal or bank details to anything, there is no possibility for you to be charged.
