If I purchase the Personal plan and pay $35.88 today (Dec 16), but decide in a few months (let’s say May 1) to upgrade to the Premium plan, how much will I pay? Will I pay $99 and then the upgrade will last until May 1, 2018, or will I pay the difference of $63.12 and then renew for $99 on Dec 16? Thank you!

If, for example, you purchased a WordPress.com Personal Plan and 3 months later decide that you really needed the WordPress.com Premium plan, staff would apply a pro-rated discount to your Premium purchase. There are a couple ways staff could go about that, but the easiest would probably be to apply some credits to your account to reflect the discount. Premium upgrades do not include any premium themes which are all individually priced one time upgrades. Refunds have lime limits. WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours.
Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.
