Cost to mapping a domain
-
I have a new site to create that currently owns a domain. It sounds like from the info I’m reading in the Support section, that you can connect to an existing domain only if you’re paying WordPress for hosting. Is this true, or can I use the free WordPress and connect to the domain I have?
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

Yes, that I have to pay for WordPress to connect to an existing domain, or yes that I can use the free WordPress and connect to an existing domain? Sorry I was not clear with my question.

Hi there,
To use your own domain, you need to upgrade to a paid plan.
Hosting is free on WordPress.com – your site at http://clarkswcdorg.wordpress.com/ is already hosted on our servers on the free plan. If you buy a plan you’re paying for the additional services and features included in the plan, on top of the free hosting we already provide. One of those features is the ability to connect your own domain registered elsewhere.
You can use either a monthly or yearly plan to connect your domain, and there’s no limit on the number of domains you can connect in this way, as long as the plan on your site remains active.

Let me know if you have any other questions about this.
