Cost to Upgrade from Personal to Premium Plan Before One Year but After Trial Ends

This is most likely a silly question but I need to ask it anyway as I cannot find the answer. I’m considering upgrading from the free plan. If I upgrade to a personal plan and then realize a few months later (after the 30 day trial period) that I need to step up to a premium plan, do any of the credits that I paid for the personal plan apply to the cost of the premium plan? Or would I have to pay the full cost for premium instead of just a prorated difference? Also, when is the anniversary date for the next billing if I switched from personal to premium part way through the first year? Thanks for any insights on how this works.

  • Hi, while we don’t do a prorated difference, you would get a discount on the upgrade to the next level. I hope that helps!

Thank you for the information. How much is the discount to upgrade to the next level? Also, when is the anniversary date for the next billing if the upgrade happens mid-year? Thanks!

  • How much is the discount to upgrade to the next level?

That depends. You’ll always be able to see your upgrade pricing at wordpress.com/plans though.

And your upgrade would expire one year from when you bought it. If you auto-renew, we renew one month in advance in case you need to cancel or correct any payment issues.
