    1. What does the WordPress Personal plan cost after the first year? Is the $48 an introductory offer or the normal pricing?
    2. If I transfer a domain from Siteground (it just renewed on July 17, 2022), will I have to pay again here?

    Hi there!

    To answer your questions…

    1. That’s the normal pricing. :)

    2. If you either connect your domain or transfer your domain – it’s more what you prefer.

    Connecting your domain allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/

    This cost is included in your Personal plan.

    A transfer would allow managing both your site and domain from the same place: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

    While you can use the first year free domain credit to transfer the domain here (and add another year of registration onto your current registration), subsequent domain renewals would be on top of the $48 plan renewal (typically $18/yr for most domains). Also, if you just renewed the domain, you would need to wait 60 days past the renewal as most domains are locked from being transferred upon purchase or renewal.

    Therefore it depends on whether or not you want to manage your domain separately from your hosting or if you want to manage both in the same place. In the end, the result is the same.
