Cotegories – Unable to Remove. Old Account

Delete 1 old category, how simple could that be, but no.

Well, it doesnt really give the option to Delete the category. Only to choose Default Post Category. But thanks for fast response, I still need a help.

1. To edit or delete a category assigned to a post (whether it’s a draft or has already been published), go to Dashboard → Posts → All Posts in your dashboard, hover over the title and click the Edit link. To delete the post click the Trash link.

2. To edit/delete categories in your dashboard go to Dashboard → Posts → Categories

3. To edit or delete dynamic category pages in your custom menu go to Dashboard > Appearance > Menus

If you do not succeed then know that Volunteers do not have access to private sites and do not ask for access to be provided. Staff can access all sites. Thanks. It didnt worked just as I thought. I can make site Public if it’s necessary. The wierd of all is that if I go that link to menus:

Then it sounds like it must be a default category and what you have to do is to assign another default category first to be able to delete it.

Oh yes! That’s true! One more question. Is there always should be one default category? Can I make I Post or Repost aka Share without attaching any category? And add cotegory later.

The default category can be changed under Settings → Writing in your dashboard.

The instructions for the “My Site” dashboard are correct. Is suspect you perhaps haven’t got any categories to delete apart from the default one but as your site is private I can’t check. Staff can see your private site however.
