Could a like by a fake profile cause security certificate errors?

  • Unknown's avatar

I have noticed I get security errors since I received a like by a fake profile (reported too) on my last post. With my new post, the errors have gone double. I checked an earlier thread, and tried to verify (with my very limited knowledge) that it is not an https/ http issue.
Could it have anything with the new profile, which is an app, with multiple doubtworthy profiles upon the page itself? I would like some help with this as I don’t want to report a genuine user, even if using wordpress.com for commercial purposes is regarded unethical.

    Thanks in advance.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • No, likes shouldn’t do that.

Would you please quote the error?

    1. A yellow triangle in the bottom left of the page with the msg ‘Error on page’
    2. Pages taking unusually long to load
    3. On the top bar right under the tab ‘Security error’ ‘Issues with this site’s security certificate has prevented this page from loading’ ‘This page has mixed content that is potentially unsafe’ …something like this.

But somehow the top bar doesn’t appear as much as it did yesterday and the day before. Confused.
    Thanks for your help.

“To help protect your security, (browser) has blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors.”

  • Hm, that is very odd.

Would you please check in a different browser, like Firefox or Chrome?

    Thanks.
I tried Chrome, and also another comp.

Some of the pages, including stats, says:

The site uses SSL, but Google Chrome has detected either high-risk insecure content on the page or problems with the site’s certificate. Don’t enter sensitive information on this page. Invalid certificate or other serious https issues could indicate that someone is attempting to tamper with your connection to the site.

I also had the problem that many others had, with loading time and inactive links, but now it seems to have gone away.
