Could not locate the php files to edit.

    Hi,

I am new to wordpress and have been working on one of my blogs. This is going to be a very simple and static blog without a database.

I need to make changes on the index.php, sidebar.php, and footer.php files but am unable to locate these files or the codes. I am currently using a theme called MistyLook.

I tried to locate the files to edit, one of the need is to insert some adsense. But I am just not able to locate these files, neither can I find the theme editor.

    Please advice.

You are in the wrong place if you intend to try and edit your template. We cannot access and edit our templates on this wp-MU multi-user blogging platform at wordpress.com.

If you download a wordpress.org blog which operates on different software than we do at wordpress.com then you can hack your template as much as you wish.

Also note that blogger intitated adsense and advertising is not allowed on wordpress.com blogs http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/12/08/adsense/ but, once again you can advertise on a blog from http://wordpress.org

If you intend to monetize a blog and/or drive traffic to third party sites like your username implies then you are most definitely in the wrong place. Doing so is against the ToS that you agreed to in order to have a blog here at wordpress.com Take note of the purple part http://wordpress.com/tos/

WordPress.com arblogs are generally speaking non-commercial free blogs. If you wish to have a commercial blog then your best bet is to hire a webhost and have him download a free blog template from http://wordpress.org

And all WP blogs both at com and org run from a database. It is a core part of the application. If you do not need it (really) you might not need WP. But a static blog is not really a blog is it?
