Could someone PLEASE help me add adsense adds?

  Every time I try and add a Google Adsense Ad to my blog it doesn’t work.

  The way I go about it is:

  1.) I add a text/html widget to my sidebar.
  2.) I copy and paste the ad code from Google into the text/html widget.
  3.) As soon as I paste the code and press save the code disappears.

  My blog is http://www.TheSkinnyKitty.com

  To answer some questions that I am expecting:

  1.) YES, I obviously have my own url
  2.) NO, my blog is NOT hosted by WordPress. It is hosted by GoDaddy.

  Could someone please explain to me what is going on here? Could someone please walk me through what I need to do to add Google Adsense Ads? I would be greatly appreciated.

  That’s not possible and simple forum search would have made that clear > click the tag you put in the sidbar > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/google-adsense

  Your domain name is registered at GoDaddy, but the blog you reference is hosted here at wordpress.com. Scroll down to the bottom of your site and see where is says, “Blog at WordPress.com”?

  You cannot do adsense at wordpress.com. You will have to transfer your site completely off of wordpress.com and to a wordpress.ORG installation over at GoDaddy or some other third-party hosting service.
