Could this be a Feature added in the Future?

Hi,
A major problem with the Twenty Eleven theme for free account users is it prevents you from adding pages without them appearing on the navigation menu. The only fix is to nest them under one of the main navigation items, which is not very convenient if you want to add many pages.
Before I learned that plugins are not supported for free accounts, I discovered that many use the following “exclude pages” plugin for this theme. I think this would be a useful feature.
Here is the page for the plugin download:

Why don’t you simply make a custom menu showing only the pages you want in navigation?

Hi,
Thank you very much. This suggestion and information was very helpful. I didn’t know I could do this–apparently many people don’t.
Thank you,
William

Hi William,
I’m glad that the information was useful.
I see you have only been on wp.com for three weeks. Have you worked through the basic tutorial which gives you lots of info about getting started:
http://learn.wordpress.com/Another way to learn about what is available here on wp.com is to just explore the support documents by whatever topic catches your attention. Even if you only look at one or two per week you will gradually become more familiar with the possibilities for techniques to use on your blog.
And of course you are always welcome to post questions here in these (mostly) peer support forums.
Happy blogging!
Tess

One other thing you should be aware of, which I wonder about because you refer to a plugin in your original comment, is that there are different flavors of wordpress. Many times when you search for wordpress information with google or other search engines, you will find information about
wordpress.ORG
rather than information about wordpress.COMYour blog is using the free multi user platform of wp.COM. So info about wp.ORG will not be useful for you. Here is an article about the important differences:

Hi Tess,
I have been looking through some of the tutorials and support documents. As you noted I am still learning. Your pointing out that the main navigation menu can be customized was very helpful.
I realize now that there is a difference between wp.ORG and wp.COM. :)
Thank you for all your help. :)
William
