Could you help me move my followers?
-
I recently bought a BlueHost subscription for a year because I wanted to go self-hosted. Could you please help me do so? I have installed JetPack and connected it both to my Bluehost account and my WordPress account. Oh, and the site to which I want to transfer my followers is: andreasnirvana.com
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, I’ve tagged WordPress.com staff to help you with this issue. You’ll likely receive a response within a few hours from a staff member. :)

The relevant support doc is here https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/#wordpress-com-to-self-hosted-site

I know, I’ve looked over it and tried to follow along, but I got stumped :/ It’s why I was wondering if a member of staff could help me?

That’s okay, a staff member definitely can transfer your followers (and your stats, if you’d wish for that), when they review this thread.
(Also, yay, Fangirl; that book was awesome!)

If the stats could be transferred as well that would be amazing !!! (and yep, Fangirl really was awesome :D)

Hi there,
I notice your Bluehost site was connected to Jetpack when it was still on their temporary domain, box5713.temp.domains/~andredh1/
To prevent possible issues going forward, please disconnect and reconnect Jetpack first, before we start transferring your followers, so the Jetpack connection can use the site’s actual domain instead. Let me know once you’ve done that, and I can move the followers for you.
I also see the Bluehost site is still empty. Moving the stats will only work if the same content exists on the Bluehost site that is currently on your WordPress.com site, so please export your content from the WordPress.com site and import it to Bluehost first:
https://wordpress.org/support/article/importing-content/
If you’re not planning on moving your content over to the new site there’s not really any point in migrating the stats, as stats are tied to the site’s content, and the stats won’t appear if the content doesn’t exist on the new site.
The import should also be done before you start creating new posts on the new site so the stats can be correctly attributed to the correct content.

I ran into an issue importing and exporting, and I wrote another thread on it and I’m waiting to get a reply, so I’ll make sure to get that fixed before proceeding here! In the meantime, I’ll make sure to disconnect and reconnect my Jetpack, thanks a lot!

I think I managed to finally import my website – could you help me with my followers and stats now?
