Unlikde blogspot (Blogger) blogs our blogs are not free standing. There are code restirctions on this multiuser blogging platform. We cannot use the instagram on free hosted WordPress.com blogs or any Javascript widgets for security reasons. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
However, you can capture any image, upload it to your blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/ and display it in a text widget or in an image widget.

You are, however, able to use the Flickr widget to display your Instagram photos. Just put in the information for your instagram account instead of your Flickr account when configuring it.
