Could You Please Delete All Content?

  Please can you delete all content from my blog, as from May 2011 nothing has been imported from Blogger apart from headers and comments. I have tried importing but nothing seems to happen. So if all the content is deleted I can try and import it all back in from Blogger.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You can delete your content by going to your Dashboard, Tools, then Delete SIte.

  Choose what you want carefully though from the drop down :)

  DON’T DELETE THE SITE AS YOU ARE TOLD TO DO ABOVE – NOT ONLY THE CONTENT WILL BE GONE BUT SO WILL YOUR WHOLE BLOG INCLUDING THE ADDRESS

  @gamenology1 – if you can’t give accurate help then please do NOTHING – the advice you gave above was as bad as it gets and will destroy their blog

  @billisdead – the instructions below will help you clear your site of content, but the blog name will be saved and you can start over

  @billisdead, I can empty the site acrossthekitchentable.wordpress.com, but that will remove all content, including all previous posts, pages, media and comments. It cannot be reversed.

  If you’d like to proceed, reply here to confirm, and I’ll take care of it for you.

  As auxclass said, please do not delete the site itself unless you have no interest in continuing to post at that blog address.

  Sorry people screw that one up all the time – your instructions were at best misleading and incomplete – and the delete contents just asks the staff to clear things for you – sends a request into a long que and you wait for sometimes quite a while

  We get people every day in the forum that picked the wrong option – I will never send anyone to there – had too many people pick the wrong option – much much better to ask the staff in the forum to clear contents – much safer

  Does anybody have any idea why importer is only importing the titles and comments of the posts.

  Hi billisdead,

  I have submitted the request to empty acrossthekitchentable.wordpress.com. The process should be completed soon.

  It’s possible that your export file from Blogger is not complete. It’s also possible that your import into WordPress.com timed out. I’d recommend starting the process from scratch and see if it works. If not, please let me know.

  Thanks for deleting the content tried to import from Blogger again but the same thing has happened. Any ideas?

  First of all, can you post a link to your Blogger site for me, so I can take a look?

  Also, what is the size and file extension (the part after the period) of your export file from Blogger?

  Hi billisdead,

  Okay I looked at everything and it appears you were doing everything right, but every once in a while there’s an issue with how Blogger connects with WordPress.com.

  What I would recommend is this:

  1) You save the content of your most recent posts (and let me know when this is done)
  2) I empty your blog again
  3) You run the importer one more time, but instead of choosing the first import option where you connect with Blogger (the top option in my screenshot below), you run a manual import (the second option):

  In other words, instead of connecting to Blogger, you find the export file and upload it yourself, which isn’t really any more complicated in the long run.
