Countdown widget
-
I would like to add a Christmas Countdown to my sidebar but don’t have a clue a) whether it would be possible and b) if so, how to do it. I’ve tried back and forth and am, well, clueless. Any ideas?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, our friend Panos has some help:

Fore some nice small Christmas countdown banners here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2009/12/16/free-christmas-countdown-tickers-for-your-blog/ -
Thanks for the link! I’ve set that up for a start even though I was going for something like tree with blinking lights or snowflakes falling etc. There’s one on mycountdown.org but I just don’t get it to work. I guess it’s not meant to be on WP. Can you tell just how “new” I am?? ;-)

Forgive me for entering here …
@1tess
Thanks for introducing the link from Panos.
@Panos
Thanks so much for this. It’s just what I wanted. -
Hi again,
There are restricted codes here at WordPress.com to preserve security as this is a multiuser blogging platform. Note that the links panaghiotisadam has posted and the one that I posted are to countdown tickers can be used on WordPress.com blogs, and most available on the internet cannot be used on our blogs. -
@timethief
Thanks so much for your help – especially for bringing light into general issues. I have tried with panaghiotisadam’s link ter but still after entreing the shortcut und then checking to see what happens on the blog I’m told “… not a valid URL…” Oh well, I’ll stick with the one I have now :-) -
@knackeredgrouse: If you’re told “… not a valid URL…” then you probably made some mistake with the code. What exactly did you try?
