  Well, I don’t know why you want to use other counters when wordpress itself provides stats. Or do you want to check the ip of the visitors?

  I posted this because so far people may only know about sitemeter and shinystat have other designs.

  As for stats? Many people cannot get too much detail.

  I believe there’s a third one called statcounter that also works here because I’ve seen it on some blogs http://www.statcounter.com/.
  And as Podz has said there certainly are some folks who simply can’t get enough detail. Why even when they have sitemeters on their blogs and aren’t affected at all when the WordPress stats are being fixed, like yesterday, they still make forum posts on the subject.

  Does the referrer option work with this? That’s the only thing that I wish Sitemeter showed.

  If you get a paid account with any of the three accouts you can get the referrer information. I looked into this and referrer information is not available on free accounts anywhere except through WordPress. Luckily Matt has commited although the stats program is only beta now that what is now free at WordPress will remain free. WordPress is THE best free bloghost.
