counting one visitor twice

  • Unknown's avatar

    hello
If one visitor visits my blog twice or more during the same day, is he counted once, or several times by the stat engine ?
Another way to ask the same question : if the stat graph shows 20 visitors a day, does it mean 20 different visitors, or can it be 20 times the same visitor ?
    Thanks

    H there,
WordPress.com stats are based on page views. The metrics provided by that program do not provide us with stats for unique visitors. A page view is a request to load a single page of an internet site that results from a page request from a web surfer clicking on a link on another HTML page which is pointing to the page in question.

If for example sake, I click into your home page in the morning and do not click any links on that front page then counts is 1 page view. And if I click in to your front page later in the day and click and click and read 20 posts on your blog then the page view count is 20.

if the stat graph shows 20 visitors a day, does it mean 20 different visitors, or can it be 20 times the same visitor ?
    Thanks

The stat graph is not displaying a visitor count. It is displaying the number of page views.
