  My country’s credit card is not supported. How do I pay for an upgrade?

  Below are the only accepted means of payment.

  WordPress.com uses PayPal as the payment processor, and as such, can only accept payment from countries they support: https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/

  If for whatever reason, they have chosen to block payment from your country, you will not be able to purchase an upgrade here unless you have a source of payment outside of your country.
  
  In addition to major credit cards Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Discover, and PayPal https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/ WordPress.com can accept echecks and some debit cards.

  The debit card must have a VISA or Mastercard symbol on it, and should work just like a credit card when selecting the VISA or Mastercard option on the payment form, even though it’s a debit card.

  WordPress.com also accept Bitcoin for payment of certain upgrades http://en.support.wordpress.com/bitcoin/

  Thanks for the info. Paypal supports Kenya so I’m unsure why that message is coming up? Any ideas? It is a VISA credit card.

  If Kenya does not appear here https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/ then that is that on that ie. If for whatever reason, they have chosen to block payment from your country, you will not be able to purchase an upgrade here unless you have a source of payment outside of your country.

  Kenya DOES appear on that list. Hence why I am unsure why that message is coming up. If Paypal supports Kenyan credit cards, would it be WordPress or perhaps my bank that does not work with Paypal?

  Hi there,

  Sorry for the trouble you had regarding your credit card. Sometimes, what Paypal publishes on their site can be a little confusing. I think the list pertains to countries where people can sign up for a Paypal account, not where they accept credit card payments from.

  Unfortunately at this time, they do not accept credit cards with billing addresses in Kenya and as our payment processor it is their sole discretion to decide on matters like these.

  Or just buy a prepaid credit card from a country that IS approved. South Africa should be pretty safe, or Poland. You can buy them online.
