Counts with protected posts

Do WordPress count views of protected posts when viewers can enter the password or when they just click on the title?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When they see “Angela” the little smiley that is always somewhere on your page. Since the theme itself loads, I would have expected to see her, but she’s not there on the protected page that I can see. If you can see her when you’re signed in, then that means visits are only counted after the password has been correctly entered.
