    Thanks for your reply, I am actually in need of a platform to sell ebooks in PDF, epub and Mobi formats. But the problem is I have been struggling for uploading epub and Mobi to wordpress.com free version. I simply couldn't.

    Is there any garantee I will be able to upload those formats in Premium or in Business platform?

    Howdy Achille,

    If I were you I’d just upload the epub and mobi files to dropbox and distribute them that way. It’s free and you’ll just have to paste a link onto your site.

    For the actual need, I did just as you advise, those books are free; but is it possible to sell digital stuff that same way? I need a platform like Amazon, but own platform were people will read just some extracts and pay before getting to the entire document. So is this possible with wordpress.com premium or business?

    I don’t believe you’ll be able to sell things the same way you could with Amazon through WordPress.com. You could see your books using PayPal buttons by following this tutorial.

    Our Business Plan is not designed as an eCommerce platform. On WordPress.com you can use a simple PayPal button for payments, but this doesn’t seem to be a good fit for your idea.

    I suggest using WooCommerce.

    If you go this route, you’d need to move your site from WordPress.com to self hosted WordPress.

    Thank you very much for your help. I am touched by your sincerity.

    Meanwhile, I’d been digging through the net and woocommerce is certainly an alternative. Using paypal will not helped me so far in Cameroon banks can’t still reverse our payments, however, we buy easily with it.

    I may be interested in self hosting WP, but it seems tough to me till now. Perhaps do I need more courage? On the other hand, I think it might be cheaper than the other ecommerce platforms!

    I suggest reading the “Getting Started Resources” on this page. You will also have access to the WordPress.org Forums.
