Cover block for Sketchpad theme
-
I’d like to use the cover block at the beginning of the content for each menu page. Is there a way to put the page title and an image in a cover block? I was not able to do it without the redundancy of the page title and the cover block both showing as in my last menu item. Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Good morning –
Can you let me know which post or page you’re working on? Happy to take a look.

Thanks for checking. Here’s the page I’m working on. https://somanyminis.wordpress.com/the-peachstone-cottage/
Note that I have the page title, “The Peachstone Cottage” and then it is repeated in the cover block. Is there a way to use the words in the cover block as the page title? -
Do you want “The Peachstone Cottage” removed from the title space or the overlay on the image?
-
I’d like it removed from the title space, without removing the words from the site menu.

Thanks. How does it look now?
I edited the page and deleted the title, leaving it blank.

Hi, so, you could manually edit the site menu to give it a different title. Still, that would leave a “no title” message in your browser bar / bookmarks, it seems.
Really your best bet is to remove the text with CSS. Here’s the code you would need:
.page p.wp-block-cover-text { display: none; }You would need a plan that supports CSS to do this, though (Premium or Business.) I’m not seeing any other excellent options with this theme, but you might preview a few other themes, too, to see if you like a different one better.

Looks like the cover block is designed for the paid plans. I’ll keep my site simple for now while I’m learning. Thank you for looking into this.
