create a footer

  • Unknown's avatar

I want to create a space at the very bottom of my page for privacy policy, etc.(currently I have an option made out of blocks, which isn’t at the very bottom of the page). On the pages tab I can chose between a few templates such as “Header and footer only”, “Footer-only”, etc. but whenever I chose another option than the “default-template”, I either can’t save the page or nothing will happen / change.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi there,

I’m not exactly sure where you are seeing those options in your interface, but I see you mentioned that you have set up ‘footer’ of sorts using blocks, yes?

If you wish, you can turn a block (or group of blocks) into a “reusable block” by following the instructions here: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/reusable-block/

Once you save that, you can then add it to any page you want to have a footer on. Just add the reusable block at the bottom of any page you create, and that block (since it’s saved already) will be exactly the same across all pages to create a site-wide footer.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
