Create a List (Sitemap) with all Posts incl. Headings

    Hi,

    I would like to create a sitemap of all my posts including (any) of the headings referring to the related category. The headings can be just listed (link is not necessary).

    I tried some plugins like “Table of Contents” or “WP Sitemap Page”, but they don´t have any settings to show the headings per post.

    The result should look like this:

    Category 1 (linked)

    – Post 1 (linked)
    – Subtitle from Heading 1
    – Subtitle from Heading 2
    – Subtitle from Heading 3

    – Post 2 (linked)
    – Subtitle from Heading 1
    – Subtitle from Heading 2

    Category 2 (linked)

    – Post 1 (linked)
    – Subtitle from Heading 1
    – Subtitle from Heading 2

    – Post 2
    – Subtitle from Heading
    … etc

    The reason is that I want I want to summarize several topics in one post, so the title is not reflecting all the content. Just mentioning the headings below the post will be a huge benefit as it will increase the informational value.

    Technically I don´t want to create a single post for each heading as they should be shown together (as there is not enough content for creating a new post for every heading).

    Hi fswebspace, we don’t have any built-in ways to add a site map with post titles _and_ subheadlines. You can just list the post titles though, if you’d like.

    Also, you mentioned you added a few plugins; did you mean to post in the WordPress forums for the free software?

    These forums are specific to the sites using our managed service. We take care of maintenance, security, and support for the WordPress sites hosted on our servers, so if you’re interested, we have more information here:

    It’s just we don’t allow plugins unless you’re on a Business Plan, and I’m not seeing that on your account.

    Hi,

    thank you very much for your reply.

    I decided to create the sitemap manually: I will write down the structure I like to have and link the categories and posts manually (the subheadlines will remain as purte text).

    I was just looking for a convienient solution, but there will be just rare updates referring to the posts – so keeping it up do date once the structure is set up will be no big deal.

    Referring to the plugin-comment: I am not quite sure what you are referring to. I just logged in to ask a question in a WordPress Forum. The site will be hosted on an independent domain (not on wordpress.com).

    There are two forums, one for sites hosted here and one for sites hosted elsewhere:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    You probably did mean to post at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ as those will be more relevant to your flavor of WordPress. Hoping that helps!
