Create A Simple Website

Everything I am reading says to go to my dashboard and tells me go to the left nav and select pages and click add new. Troubie is I do not see anything in my nav that is even remotely close. All I want to do is to put a simple web site. I don’t want to even enable blogging at this point. Thanks for any insight.

A blog is a website whereon posts are displayed in reverse chronological order. It’s been several years since WordPress.com blogs could be referred to as “simple web site”. in fact the software has become increasingly more complex and sophisticated for any new blogger to deal with and the learning curve which used so be very gradual has now become very steep.
On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/
