Create a tab (menu)

Hi ! I’m French so excuse me for my bad English if I do mistakes ! I want to know how to create a menu (a tab on the sidebar) from categories. I’ve created a category “Mes Nail Art” and when I go to “Create a menu”, so I called my menu “Nail Art” and I add my category “My Nail Art” that I created just before . Here I save and when I look on my blog, no tabs are created … I know you can create menus (tabs) from pages but I want to do from categories … If you can answer me in French that would be great! I confess that when I look at the article on how to create a menu, I do not understand … And yet, it seemed super easy! Thank you in advance!
