Create a URL Exchange Board

    I have a few wordpress.com URLs that I thought I was going to build, but have since chosen not to create. I know there is no way for me to “give back” these URLs so that someone else can use them down the road, and I don’t know of any specific individuals to transfer them to outright. So I got to thinking: Might there be someplace on the forums where a “website available”/”website wanted” exchange board might be found? If not, could one be created? Seems like this could fill a need…

    This could be a worthwhile idea.

    Something else you could consider in the meantime: Create a post on each of those blogs stating that the URL is available for transfer and then enable moderated comments or add a contact form so people who are interested can contact you. Of course, make sure the blogs are public.

    Often when someone tries to register a URL and the system tells them it’s unavailable they’d go to that address to check. This way they’ll see your message and will be able to contact you to gain ownership of that URL.
