  We had a website hosted by a company. We parted ways and they emailed the files for the website to us so that we can still have the website, just hosted by a different company. It was written in word press. I am trying to find out how to take the website files and have a new website hosted and supported by word press. Any help greatly appreciated!

  Hi there,

  Since you already have all your files and want to host your own WordPress website, the solution would be to visit WordPress.org and download the standalone package in order to host your custom website yourself.

  You will need to obtain a domain name and find a website host in order to upload both your website files and database.

  However, you will either need to get a web developer involved in order to keep things up to date and secure or take care of it yourself. As a web developer myself, I can say that this can be both time consuming and difficult at times.
