Create a website in WordPress and then linked to a domain

  I will like to start my website in WordPress. However, I already have my website and domain with others. I would like to contract my site in WordPress and then link the domain tomy site WordPress as soon as I finish my website in WordPress. How I can do this? I do not like lost visibility and clients during my transition. I will stay with my domain for 1 year and then I will switch

  Hi, no problem. You’re welcome to create your new site with us before pointing the domain here. That way your current site can stay “live” until your new one is ready.

  I do recommend getting a plan earlier on if you’ll need it, since they have other features you might find useful, including direct support:
  https://wordpress.com/plans

  Then just avoid using the domain options until you’re ready, and then you can map or transfer the domain.
