create a website with the blog feature on only one page.
-
I created my site summersgateassociation.wordpress.com and every page except one has the blog feature. I only want the blog feature to appear on the blog page. Please tell me how to set up my website so only the blog page has the blog feature. It seems like this should be so simple, but I can’t figure it out. Thank you

Howdy,
If you’re trying to disable comments on your pages, this guide should come in handy:

Hi there,
Could you give me a few more details about what you’re trying to accomplish?
I’ll be glad to help. :-)
-
Thank you so much. I would really appreciate getting this resolved. What I am trying to accomplish is having only one page on the website function as a blog. I don’t want the blog feature to appear on the other pages… just like a regular website. Right now the blog feature appears on all the pages except two… the Welcome Page and the Announcements Page.
My site is summersgateassociation.wordpress.com. It is set up as a private website, but if you need access to it just send me your email address at (email visible only to moderators and staff) and I will be happy to give it to you.
Perhaps then you can see the options that are available in the template I am using and identify what I am doing wrong. THanks Valerie

Howdy,
It does seem that you’re referring to the comments section.
You can disable this section by opening each page in the editor, and unchecking the boxes marked “Allow comments” and “Allow trackbacks and pingbacks”. Then, update the page by clicking on the blue Update button.
Here’s a link to your page editor, with the Documents page open, to get you started:

You can access your other pages at Pages -> All in your dashboard menu.
Feel free to drop us a line if we can be of any further assistance. :-)

Ok, in the page editor, when I open “screen options” there is a menu with check boxes at the top that looks like this….
Show on screen
Sharing Page Attributes Featured Image Discussion Comments Slug Author Revisions Writing HelperI don’t see anything that says “Allow comments” and “Allow trackbacks and pingbacks”
-
The “Allow comments” and “Allow trackbacks and pingbacks” boxes are in the Discussion module toward the bottom of the editor page. They’re not in the Screen Options; they’re beneath the editor itself.
-
On the page link you provided it clearly states “By default, new blogs on WordPress.com will have the Discussion module hidden. You can reveal it by clicking on Screen Options on the top right, and checking the box that says Discussion.”
In addition there is a “Discussion” module under “Settings” but it doesn’t have the “Allow comments” and “Allow trackbacks and pingbacks” check boxes either.
THIS IS SO WIERD… it’s like we are not working with the same version of the software? Can you send me a screen shot of the exact page that show these specific options? Thanks for all your help.

I’m sorry for the confusion.
First, you’ll need to check “Discussion” in Screen Options. This will enable the Discussion module.
Then, you’ll need to scroll down the editor page, and locate the Discussion module. You can uncheck the “Allow comments” and “Allow trackback and pingbacks” options in that module.
Here’s a screenshot that shows the location of the Discussion module:
