Create an account without creating a website/blog

  I have been asked to contribute content to an existing site and it requires me to have a WordPress account. When I try to set up my account, I am asked to create a site with a new domain name. I don’t see that option as being available. Is it possible and how do I proceed if it is?

  To clarify, the option that I don’t see available is the option to set up an account without a creating a website.

  You’ve created the WordPress.com account rwtrask10753 or you couldn’t be using it to post this question in the support forum. If you did also accidentally create a site you don’t need to launch it/use it if you don’t want to.
