Create drop down menu in the header which contains list of categories?

How can I create a drop down menu named “Categories” in the header beside “Home”, “About the author” & “Contact”? And in the “Categories” menu, each drop down category will link readers to the list of posts belonged to it? Thank you.

    Hi,

See the Category Pages support page for instructions and relevant links on setting up a custom menu with links to category pages.

If you want the top-level item “Categories” to be unclickable (that is, not linked to a page or any other content type) then see the answer to the question “How do I create an un-clickable parent tab for my sub-menu?” in the Frequently Asked Questions section of the Custom Menus support page.

Below the unclickable menu item “Categories” you would then organize your category pages, and subcategory pages (if any), as described in the Organize your menu section of the Custom Menus support page.
