Create excerpt for search results

    Hi. My theme bakerfield does not create an excerpt for the search results and I cannot find a solution for this on the internet. How do I code this in css in such a way that all search results will be in excerpt format?

    Hi there, this isn’t something that can be changed with CSS, it would require changes to the theme PHP script files and we cannot edit those at WordPress.com.

    You can, however, add the More Tag to your posts where you want the break to be and the search results will then honor that more tag and show only what is before it. The blog page will continue to show the calculated excerpt.
