Create excerpts of OLD POSTS (only) under the most recent post

    I have found I can alter my old posts MANUALLY, by going to Edit, and then inserting the “Read More Tag” (found in the row with other controls).

    BUT Is there a way to set the system up to just do this automatically to my old posts?

    ALSO – once I have inserted the read more tag into an old post, and find I don’t like it, HOW DO I CHANGE IT? I can’t delete it…

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    I actually really love the more tag. It’s one of my favourite hidden little tools on WordPress.com!

    The tag can only be removed or edited by going in to the code of your post and taking it out there. That sounds a bit more intense then it is, I promise!

    What you need to do is load up your editor for a post which has the more tag in it and in the upper right hand corner you’ll see a couple of tabs which say Visual and either HTML or Text (depending on which editor you’re using).

    Click the HTML/Text tab, and you’ll see the code which makes up your post. You shouldn’t have to scroll down very far and you’ll see the More tag, which looks like this:

    <!--more-->

    You can either remove it or cut/paste it to a different spot. Wherever you move it to, that’s where the break is going to be.

    Let me know if you have any questions!
