Create link on widget image to another page
-
hi. I’ve created a widget image with items i’d like it to link to.
Its the “Melton Directory of Services” widget. See the ‘click here’ orange rectangles at the bottom. What would be the best way to create these links? thanks. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I see “Melton’s Business Network” image widget, which has rectangles saying advertise now, donate etc. Please note that each image widget can be linked to only one URL or another page. You can’t break down a single image widget to link to different pages.
Check this guide on image widgets, they have a URL field at the bottom where you can paste the link of another page.

thanks, but is there no way to specify links in photoshop slices and then bring them into WP through an image?

You might be able to break a single image into pieces and put them in a Text Widget instead, linking each one to the desired page. For this, upload all parts of the image to your Media Library and link them like this in a Text Widget:
<a href="http://google.com"><img src="http://wordpress.com/img1.jpg"></a> <a href="http://wordpress.com"><img src="http://wordpress.com/img2.jpg"></a> -
Hi Darryl
Breaking the image into two as ehtis has suggested is probably the best way to achieve what you are aiming for.
I see that you have chosen to go with just the one link to Browse – Advertisements.
Let me know if you need any further assistance.
