Create New Blog Button is Dead
-
I’m trying to create a new free blog for a friend but when I complete the form and click the button to create I am returned to this URL https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/?blog=1, my info is still in the fields and no confirmation email is sent. Help! (yes, I have logged out of my own account/site when attempting to do this and I’ve cleared cache/cookies)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
The blog I need help with is not the one listed above, the form wouldn’t allow me to leave that blank. Please disregard as it’s not my blog URL that’s the issue.
-
When I clicked this link: http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/ and was taken to this page: https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/ I was able to sign up. But, something is still wrong w/that original button. Might want to look into that Happiness Engineers. (btw, almost done w/Scott’s book – good stuff!)
-
This is killing me. I still haven’t received the confirmation email and can’t log in, but now it’s saying the username/blog is no longer available. How long does it take for the email to show up?
-
There’s nothing wrong with that link for me using Firefox 30 and IE11.
Please let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/The blog I need help with is not the one listed above, the form wouldn’t allow me to leave that blank. Please disregard as it’s not my blog URL that’s the issue.
Please provide the URL for the actual blog URL you are trying to register under the https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/deeconstructed username account and associated email address in the form of an active link starting with http://

Ok, it looks like the new blog wound up under my list of blogs under my username. I don’t want that. It needs to be it’s own account for my friend. How do I ‘unlink’ it from my profile/account? I still haven’t gotten an email confirmation and can’t log in (it says the username – maymeejo – doesn’t exist).
-
A username of maymeejo assigned to http://maymeejo.wordpress.com is ultimately what I’m trying to accomplish completely separate from my profile/blog URL.

That is my info (deeconstructed) as that’s the same date I signed up for my free account. I need the new one unlinked from mine. Thanks.

Hey there!
You may transfer the blog from your account to your friend’s by following the instructions found on this page:
Let me know if you run into problems along the way, or if you need help in getting this done. Thanks!
-
I am unable to create the username I wanted for her because it’s tied to my account somehow. When I attempt to register “maymeejo” it says that it’s unavailable but when I go to the link https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/maymeejo it says this username doesn’t exist. So, I’d like to get this fixed first, set up her account and then transfer the blog per your instructions. Thanks for your help!

Hey there!
The username “maymeejo” is not available to register for internal reasons, but please feel free to register a different one. Rest assured that you currently own the blog “maymeejo.wordpress.com” and you may transfer it to your friend’s new account once it’s registered. Thank you!

Druesome – Finally getting back around to this and the documentation you’ve linked to seems to be outdated as my options are not the same as the screen print. Here is what I see:
Dashboard Stats Posts Pages Change Theme Customize Sharing Domains
There is no option to transfer blog. Please advise.

Hi there!
I can see that you were able to create a new account and successfully transferred the blog over. Are you all set with this one? Let me know if that isn’t the case so I can help you further. Thanks!
