Create new or implement in current website ?

    Hey,
    I’m new to word press. I have bacground of jsut html and css, just tiny little bit of php.
    I have website of mines http://www.lubyslaurynas.com/my_works.php
    and I would like to implement wordpress into it.
    I need not many functions- I need to be able to upload new works to the page and create new websites for them.

    Question is, is it better for me to try doing this or it is better to start with fresh wordpress blank page and build new portfolio from scratch ? In which way I would learn faster ?

    Its very complicated for me, I spend whole day and achieved almost nothing. I’m able just to install wordpress to my host and by some miracle I added banner with correct css styling. Other than that I was a failure.
