Create new site

  I mapped my existing domain which I already own to here but then decided I didn’t want to do that. How do I un-map it —- ‘cancel’ looks as if I will lose my domain altogether but I have a whole site on that domain and want to retain my site (eg. mysite.com), just not have it mapped to wordpress.

  Hello there,
  We need details please.
  1. What is the domain URL?
  2. What is the underlying .wordpress.com URL?
  3. Exactly which username account registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased the upgrade for it?
  4. When was the upgrade purchased?

  Hi there,

  I don’t see any domain mappings in the account you’re using to post here, so if you used a different account to add the domain mapping please post here as that account if you need me to help with this.

  However, in answer to your question, if you go to the Purchases page and cancel a domain mapping from there, it will only remove the mapping upgrade from your site. The content on your site won’t be affected, and the site will only go back to using the original free address.

  Your domain itself will also be unaffected – if you bought mapping here it means you bought the domain somewhere else. You can’t cancel something you bought from someone else from our site.

  I only have one account.

  I can’t see the mapping anymore. I didn’t get as far as paying for it, and the mapping stuff has now disappeared.

  As a free site, I have deleted it via the Dashboard. I now have just the one site which is what I wanted.
