Create section breaks

How do I create section breaks in a post? I have a series of photos that each have text associated. More than a caption. The next page feature isn’t working in my theme, I have tried <section> and <div>, to no avail. I have spent two hours trying to figure it out.

When making the photo “aligned” with text, I lose the section breaks. After talking it over more in chat, it sounds like there really isn’t an easy/elegant solution to this, instead I will be breaking it up into several different posts and the do a single collection post.
Though I could do the multi-page post thingy if I could ever figure that out!

Once your images are aligned, you should be able to switch to HTML view and insert the <hr / > tag manually beneath the section. I can understand the image alignment is often trickier in practice than theory though. If you’d like, I’d be happy to look at an example post/page where things aren’t working out.
Also, have you consider using one of our portfolio based themes? Many of these themes split portfolio items up into sections, which could fit in well with the look you’re after:
