Create Site With Temporary Domain

  I was wondering if it would be possible to create a WordPress site with a temporary domain and then transfer my current domain to that site, to WordPress from Wix, after I have completed building the site? Thanks!

  Also, I own my domain. I didn’t purchase my domain through Wix. I’m just using that platform.

  Hi there, no problem. You’re welcome to create your new site with us before pointing the domain here. That way your current site can stay “live” until your new one is ready.

  I do recommend getting a plan earlier on if you’ll need it, since they have other features you might find useful, including direct support:
  https://wordpress.com/plans

  Then just avoid using the domain options until you’re ready, and then you can map or transfer the domain.
