Create slideshow and not show same images in posts below

  I want the slideshow to show the images, and then have them not appear in the posts below. I have tried twerking with the dates, and in the settings – reading – change the number of posts to show, but I can’t get it to work. I would like the slideshow to show 5 images and then a post with a welcome message show and further below another post with some more information. Thank you!

  Hi.
  The section of the featured content slider in the Blissful Blog theme guide says,

  Full-Width Featured Content Slider
  Focus on your favorites with the graciously sized, full-width Featured Content Slider. To setup, add a featured post tag in Appearance → Customize → Featured Content, set a featured image on your favorite posts and tag them with the featured tag you chose.

  Note that there are three steps to take in this description, as follows:
  1. Add a featured post tag at Customize > Featured Content.
  2. Set a featured image on the chosen posts, and
  3. Add the same featured post tag chosen at Featured Content to each of the chosen posts with the featured images.

  It’s not clear how you might get the same image in the slider and in a post below. Those posts which have a featured image and the featured content tag appear in the slider; other posts appear below the slider.

  The demo has featured content posts in the slider and different non-featured posts below it. Your post WIÑAY MARKA appears in the slider because it has a featured image and the proper tag, “featured.” The post http://benativejourney.com/2015/04/20/181/ does appear in the slider and then, without a featured image, down below. I’m not sure why this is so. Perhaps because WordPress recognizes the image and the post content as duplicates and becomes confused as to what to do with them.

  I also notice that the post WIÑAY MARKA has “featured” as both a category and a tag. Don’t know if this might cause a problem.

  What happens when you take the three steps I’ve outlined above, and assign five different featured images to five different posts, all of which are assigned the same tag which you have chosen as your featured content tag at Customize > Featured Content?
