Create space below date and above first line of text

  Is there a SIMPLE way to just add a blank space below the date and above my first line of text? I could do it on an older computer by typing ampersand nbsp semi-colon (which apparently is a big no-no, but worked for MONTHS on that other computer.) Now, for some reason, that doesn’t work – maybe it has something to do with Windows 7…?? Anyway – I just don’t like my first line of text bunched up under the date. I read the blank lines and alignment link, but none of that seemed to apply…Not REAL technologically advanced here. Thanks!

  I’m sorry but that’s not possible as we cannot edit templates and themes on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. All blog wearing the same theme are using the same underlying template and only Staff can access those files and edit. Every edit they make affects all blogs wearing the same theme. Staff are continually updating themes and the workaround you employed before no longer works.

  Put a period (.) on that top line and then turn it white via the font color button on the second row, but do it after you are done with the post so that all your text isn’t white.

  That’s the easy way, but the period will show in your RSS feed, it will show on your category pages if they display excerpts, it will show if someone copypastes your text, and it will show for users who (like me) have set their browser to display different colors than the original ones of the page. The correct way is enclosing your first paragraph in p tags with some top padding or margin:
  <p style="padding-top:14px;">COMPLETE PARAGRAPH HERE</p>
  or
  <p style="margin-top:14px;">COMPLETE PARAGRAPH HERE</p>
  Change the number to adjust the blank space.
