create spaces between images?
-
hi, i try to put some spaces between the images in this page
http://panosantonopoulos.com/works/
but they always come the one next to the other….any idea?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’ve had problems with images touching each other and wanted spaces between them too. the only way I figured it it was to add a period between images. so add an image, then a period under the image on the next line, then add another image, then a period, etc. the periods are barely visible, most readers never see them as they are looking at the images. another way to do it is to add text. If there is a technical way, it’s lost on me. just a suggestion if you don’t get a better one.

@maureenlynne
I assume you have not noticed that all CSS editing is themes specific editing and that the person who created this thread is not using the same theme. Click this link and start own thread please > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform -
@9thartwave
Please wait for those who are experienced with CSS editing to assist you and do not do as suggested by maureenlynne. -
I’ve been blogging for 4 years and have used many different themes and found this to work best. The blog I’m currently doing is new but my other blogs are not. Your condescending attitude is not helpful and didn’t answer this persons question. I was just helping out until “a more experienced CSS editing” person could come along and offer something better. (which hasn’t happened)
So go ahead, answer the question! -
9thartwave purchased a custom upgrade for their blog wearing the Imbalance 2 theme and is asking for a CSS editing solution, which Justpi or thesacredpath or some other blogger who is experienced with CSS editing will provide.
Your theme is Chateau and there is no CSS upgrade on the blog – correct? Inserting periods between images to create spaces is a hack that’s not recommended. If 9thartwave followed your recommendation they would have to undo what you suggest and that`s not helpful.
You have blogged for 4 years and you do not have experience with CSS editing, correct?
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/maureenlynneI have blogged for over 8 years and have no experience with CSS editing either. However, I have answered questions here for over 7 years, have answered and know a wrong answer when I see one posted. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/timethief

Horizontal or vertical spacing issue? Way different answer
-
This has worked for vertical spacing with no CSS required – might help depending on what either poster needs to do
<div style=”clear:both;”></div> – clear and start over after an image – vertical
<br class=”blank” /> – gives a blank line
-
I would suggest using a 2-row, 4-column HTML table for this. The titles would go in the 1st row and then the linked images in the row below them. Open that page in the editor, switch to the Text tab, copy everything out and save it in a plain text file for reference and safe keeping. Next, replace the content of that page with the following, pasted into the Text tab. If that looks like it will work for you, we can add some padding and such to space the images out more.
<table style="width: auto; border: none;"> <thead> <tr> <th style="text-align: center; border: none;">Paintings</th> <th style="text-align: center; border: none;">Installations</th> <th style="text-align: center; border: none;">Limited Prints</th> <th style="text-align: center; border: none;">Experimental</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr style="max-height: 170px;"> <td style="vertical-align: top; border: none;"><a href="http://panosantonopoulos.com/category/paintings/"><img class="aligncenter wp-image-360" alt="''Der Einzige und sein Eigentum (The Ego and His Own)'' P. Thank-you thesacredpath,
looks like someone was gunnin’ for me and not helpful for all their 7 years of trolling. Since no one answered this persons question I made an attempt. so shoot me. -

-
@maureenlynne, your fix is a valid one and I’ve used it myself and thanks for chiming in.
-
it’s not the best fix per se but it really is up to the original poster to decide. Thank-you thesacredpath.
-
thanks for that, it looks nice. How can I increase the spaces between the images?
@timethief
I think you exaggerate a little bit. maureenlynne just tried to help -

m sorry I sounded negative. I am of course aware of the put a period in and make it the same color as the background workaround. Its an old typesetter`s trick that both raincoaster and I have shared in threads here posted by those who did not have a custom design upgrade. However, as you spent $30.00 for the upgrade I assumed wrongly it seems that you wanted a CSS editing solution. Is there such a thing – oh yeah there is. Once again I apologize to everyone who chose to feel offended. So again I say ♫ Happy Holidays ♫ to one and all, despite the namecalling -
This is the keyboard from hell … lol :D
