Create sub-domain leading to a particular IP

    Hi.

I have a WordPress website. It’s the free plan.

I need to create a sub-domain and make the domain leading to a particular IP address. It’s for the dashboard of my platform for developing smartphone apps.

This is the instruction that I received from my mail.

‘Please create a sub domain (something like dashboard.your-domain.com) that will be used for your partner dashboard and make this domain leading to the following IP address: ww.xx.yy.zzz

Then please tell me this domain name to let us finish the binding.’

Can I achieve this WordPress? If so, how?

    Thank you.

  • Hi there,

To create a subdomain you need to have a domain in your account, and you don’t. You only have the free WordPress.com address and you cannot add a subdomain to that.

If you had a domain here (meaning it’s name servers must be set to WordPress.com), you can add an A-record to your domain to add a subdomain pointing to a particular IP.
