Create subdomain using existing domain

hi i have a business plan going in here for lushiglobal.com.

I want to create a subdomain of lushipages.lushiglobal.com to put different contents. However the steps of creating a subdomain here (mapping a subdomain, changing DNS records bla bla bla) is very different from using a cPanel and very confusing.

    As a non-tech guy, i need a simpler solution.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi @lushi2020, do you want this to be a separate site? If so, start at https://wordpress.com/start

then add a site with that subdomain. Then, if you need more help, contact us so we can help you configure the DNS.

do you have any step-by-step video or pictorial guide on that? because the last time i did something there, the subdomain keeps redirecting to my domain which is not what i want.

  • Hi there,

To have different content appear at your subdomain, you’ll first need to create a completely different site at https://wordpress.com/start/site/

Once the new site is created, you’ll need to upgrade it to a paid plan, and then you can add a subdomain to it via the domain mapping upgrade:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/

As lushiglobal.com is already hosted with us, you don’t need to configure anything else – the DNS records required for the subdomain to work will be added automatically once you complete the domain mapping process.

If you have more questions about this, it might be easier for you to contact live chat support instead where someone can walk you through the steps in real time. Your business plan gives you 24/7 access to live chat, so you don’t need to post here in the public forums for help with your site.

You can reach live chat support at any time at https://wordpress.com/help/contact
