  are there themes for web sites, not just blogs?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  The short answer is No, the longer answer is, it depends what you do with the theme. Several are configurable in many different ways, to give many different looks, and you can create static Pages on any WP.com site and just relegate the Blog to a back page or leave it off altogether and hide it via a Custom Menu.
