Create widgets?

    Hi.
    Is there a way to create widgets for wordpress and if they seem as to be needed to be added to standard list of widgets? Is there a special forum dedicated to this somewhere …? Or it’s just impossible..?

    If you are creating widgets for the “wordpress community” you can head over here and see what is already written. If you are talking about wordpress.com (this host) there are only selected widgets that are added by the staff unless you create your own “text widget” using only HTML code and nothing else as other things like javascript, flash, embeds, etc are stripped out for security reasons.

    Normal wordpress widgets are more for the .org community where they are hosted elsewhere. WordPress.com is run on WordPress MU (multi-user) and not quite the same thing.
