Create your website at WordPress banner

  Hi, I have several free sites and only this one has the annoying ‘Create Your Website with WordPress’ banner at the top. This is huge, encourages people to immediately click off my site, and I can see this all the time, even when I’m logged in! I would like this banner to appear in the footer, not at the top of the page. Is there anything that can be done, apart from paying for an upgrade? I’m not ready to do this yet.

  Hello there,

  It looks like this site is on the free plan, which is subject to ads – this one in particular is known as in-house ad.

  The only way to remove these would be to upgrade. https://wordpress.com/support/no-ads/#removing-ads

  Hi – just puzzled because I have other free sites which do not carry this advert! Anyone have any ideas…?

  Hi there, Are you looking at your other sites when logged out? That might make a difference.

  Also, this account and site were created within the last couple of weeks. Are your other sites much older? (I could be leading us down the primrose path with this reply, but thought I’d mention it.)
