Creating a blog as a gift?

Hello. I would like to buy and start a blog for my friend as a Christmas gift. She already has a free wordpress account with her own email but I want to buy her own domain name so I am assuming this would be a different account. How do I get started? Should I buy with my own email account and will I be able to transfer it to her actual email address after Christmas when she is part of this? I also have my own WordPress account and wonder if all of this will screw up my own account. Should I use a new /different email account of mine ( I have a few of them) to get started ( so as not to screw up my current account) and again -will I be able to transfer this WordPress account to her after Christmas and she knows about it? Help please!

We can help you with that. You can create a new site under the account you already have and then purchase the plan of your choice. Then you’ll have to contact us and ask us to transfer that plan to your friend’s site.
Please note that it’s best that you don’t register a custom domain for them. Just purchase the plan. Then they can use the free domain credit included in the plan and register the domain of their choice.
