creating a contact me form
-
I followed the instructions: I wrote [contact-me] into a page, but it never came up as a form. All I get is the comment box. What am i doing wrong?

thanks so much. I tried the [contact-form]. It produced a box and when I wrote into it, it appeared right there like a comment does.
What I am trying to do is be able to get emails sent to me from a page in my blog.
I did not understand “sp>content s/b contact” nor how to turn off comments and pings (what are pings?) and what is the offending link? sorry to sound so web unsavvy…but i am :-) -
susanolupitan, please give us a link to your blog. If it’s not a WP.com-hosted blog, that code will never work here and we have to refer you to WordPress.org instead.
On a WP.com blog the contact form code makes a box that looks like a comment box, but when you type into it it goes into an email. Perhaps it didn’t do this because it could tell you’re the blog owner, but perhaps it didn’t do this because your blog is not hosted here. When you ask for help, always always leave a full link to the blog in question, starting with http.

Thank you Raincoaster. You were right about the box that sends me an email.
I see that it does work. Thanks -
i have successfully created a contact me page, but for some reason, I have a contact form on my home page as well. How do i get rid of that?
-
Please give us a link to where it occurs on your home page, so we can look at it. Give us a link to BOTH places it occurs, come to think of it. You may have created it as a post instead of a Page, and we need to see both URLs.

I juat realized that is exactly what I had done. No worries, I have deleted it and think i am making sense now. Thanks again
