Creating a Custom Menu
-
I have found the “Custom Menus” help page, and am attempting to do as it says.
1. I type in a new menu name (e.g. Elementary)
2. I click “Create Menu”
3. my new entry does NOT show up under “Pages” over on the left. Not sure what I am doing wrong… :-(
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Naming the menu does not make items that have not been adding to it appear in the menu. There are many common errors, misunderstanding and misconceptions when creating custom menus and you can read about them here > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/ Please read this excellent post for illumination

Have you activated the menu?
Bottom Left tab: Theme Locations
Select saved primary menu and save

Many thanks to you both.
Will follow your suggestions and be back only as/if necessary.
Thanks again! -

TimeThief –
I have connected to your link.
Under “C. How To” I am told to open ‘Screen Options’ and be sure a number of things are checked.Problem: When I open ‘Screen Options,’ I find NONE of the things they say I need to be sure are checked. ??
Is the article/link referring to an older version of wordpress?

Stuck…not working, or rather, doing what it did before I got your link.
I’ve saved, and it’s not showing up…
I want a number of tabs, as shown in the pic in the link you sent.Is there a simpler set of instructions?…not sure why I’m finding these confusing (must be just missing something simple, but I can’t seem to get it to do what it says it will)
:-(
