Creating a default image setting
-
I edit most of the images I use to have a 1px border, 5px vertical and horizontal spacing as well as align left. Doing this manually isn’t a big deal with a post that has just one or two images, but it can be a royal pain when I use a collection of thumbnails linked to larger images. Life would be much easier if users could create a default image setting that would handle the appearance of all images with, of course, an option to override.

There is a default setting now: check Settings > Media (unfortunately it does not include borders.) Using the gallery feature, too, is helpful for groups of thumbnails.

It can also be done if you simply switch to a theme that handles thumbnails decently (i.e. with borders and/or space around them) by itself.
